WEST HAVEN — Local fire crews put out flames that engulfed a trailer Thursday evening in West Haven.

First responders were sent to the Century Campground at 1399 W. 2100 South, according to a Facebook post from the Weber Fire District.

When they arrived, crews found a small trailer was “well involved” in flames, the post says. The person living in the trailer had escaped by the time firefighters arrived.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames quickly and get the fire under control, according to the post.

Fire crews ruled that the trailer was a total loss, the post says. A nearby trailer showed signs of heat and smoke damage.

Investigators found that the fire started from an accident that started while cooking, the post says.

Units from the Weber Fire District and Ogden and Roy fire departments, in addition to members of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the fire call, according to the post.
